Saturday 22 November 1969 – Review, Results and Table

Wolves, Leeds, Spurs, Forest and Sunderland dominate.


There were many strong results on the weekend, but Forest’s five goal thumping of Chelsea really stood out.

Arsenal home draw with Manchester City meant they have gone 4 games without a win.

Meanwhile it was City’s 6th game without a loss and their first away draw.


Coventry’s home draw meant they’ve gone two weeks without a loss. Newcastle have now not won in 7 games.

Crystal Palace’s home loss to Wolves has meant 4 matches without a win. On the other hand the victors have not lost in 4, with three of those as wins.

Everton have now not lost in 4 games. However their home draw with Burnley meant they haven’t any of their last 5 home games.

Leeds domination of Liverpool was their 9th home game without loss. Liverpool haven’t won in 4.


Man Utd have now only 1 win in 4 home games.

Spurs have extended their winning streak to 8, 4 of those away.

Forest’s thumping win was after 5 games without win.

It was the first time this season that Stoke have scored 2 goals in two games in a row. It was their first home win after 3 heavy home defeats.

WBA – 8 losses in a row, 5 losses in a row at home.

Sheff Wed have now not lost in 3.

West Ham now 4 games without loss.


Sunderland still not to lose in the league in 21 games, 20 of those as wins.

Southampton have not won in 5 games. it was their fourth away loss in a row.
