Leeds and Forest Share Points in Titanic Match
Wednesday 8 October 1969
Leeds 2 (Giles 14, Gray 76)
Nottingham Forest 2 (Richardson 7, Hilley 47)
It was a magnificent spectacle last night as two teams in top form fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
It was intense, like a heavy weight bout, where strong, tough punches were thrown and taken, but both fighters remained on their feet.
Forest’s Moore receives the ball inside the box.
Moore swivels and turns and tricks Cooper. Moore must surely score.
Moore is thrown into the air like a feather by the tsunami that is a Jack Charlton tackle. Penalty!
Forest hit the lead very early on.
Leeds are desperately searching for an equaliser. Gray to Giles.
Giles lays it off back to Gray.
Gray back to Giles. The Forest defence are after Giles.
With a sublime back heel, Giles opens up the Forest defence and Gray heads for goal.
What a super equaliser as Gray makes sure of the draw.
