Saturday 20 September 1969
Sunderland 3 ( Baker 22, 62 Tueart 33 )
Nottingham Forest 3 ( Hilley 9, McKenzie 53, Storey-Moore 74)
It was a match between the two teams with the best current forms and the top two teams on the table. And they didn’t disappoint. Both were hungry for victory and it was highly entertaining. Both sides were of the adage of the team that scores more will win the game. Forest got the first and last goals of the game. In between Sunderland mostly dominated and even though it’s the first point dropped this season, they still look the team to beat.
