Sunderland, rather unconvincingly won their tenth game in a row at Stoke. It’s still early in the season but they’ve already built a strong lead in the league.
Burnley played a great second half and deservedly beat Arsenal 2-0. That was Arsenal’s fifth loss in a row and pressure is beginning to build. In the other half of North London, Manchester City visited White Hart Lane and smashed Spurs 4-1.
It hasn’t been a happy Saturday for London clubs. Chelsea earned themselves a 2-0 lead against Wolves. Wolves came back and won very easily. Leeds came back from a 2-0 score against Wednesday to earn a 2-2 draw.
Coventry and Crystal Palace played an exciting 3-3 draw, with the lead changing a number of times, Coventry grabbing the draw in the 2nd minute of injury time. While the other promoted side Derby, enjoyed a strong second half against Newcastle.
