The winner tonight would move into the top 3. In the end it was the home side who showed a sharper edge in their attacking prowess and goals by Hector and Carlin got the points for Derby and a jump up the ladder. Southampton had the first shot of the game, which was powerfully pushed away by Green. After that they offered no threat to the Derby goal.
