What Really Happened – 20 August 1969

A very poor Manchester United got hammered by table toping Everton 3-0. Ball tormented them throughout. United now have gathered a mere point from 4 games and are looking a shadow of their former self.

Wednesday registered their first win of the season, thorough “spirit and determination” and Newcastle’s attacks were broken down by their wasteful attackers.

Meanwhile Liverpool travelled to Man City and scored a valuable 2-0 win. Liverpool are a strong and powerful team and will be tough to beat all season. City  are a great side to watch and their reputation will grow.
